Privacy

Your location

We only ask for your location when you choose “Use my location”. Your browser rounds it to about a kilometre before it’s sent, and we use it only to sort nearby rinks. We don’t store it. Location results are never saved in shared caches or analytics.

Searches

We don’t link searches to you. We don’t record the words people search for in our analytics.

Site analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity on browsing pages to understand how people use the site through interaction analytics, heatmaps and session recordings. Your browser contacts Microsoft directly, and Clarity may use cookies. Search forms and suggestions are masked in recordings. Clarity is not loaded on search results, location results, correction forms or error pages. We limit referrer information to the site’s origin so search terms and location parameters are not passed along in referrer URLs. See Microsoft’s privacy statement for how Microsoft handles this information.

Maps

Rink pages show a Google map, which loads automatically as you scroll to it. When it loads, your browser contacts Google directly, so Google receives your IP address and may set cookies under Google’s privacy policy. Directions links open Google Maps, which is also covered by Google’s policy.

Correction reports

If you send a correction, we keep your message and, if you give one, your email address. We use them only to review the correction and reply to you, and we never publish them. Reports are deleted 12 months after review.

Weather

Our servers request weather forecasts. Your browser never contacts the weather provider.
